I am a geology grad, and love teaching children. I have thought about getting my certificate, but have had some recent luck with doing a fun and educational Geology presentation for a teacher I know here in town. The kids pay the fee before I come, and they always have a great time, and look forward to my next visit (I have done this a few times). What would be the best way to get the word out about my presentation, so I can be doing this more regularly. Any advice would be great!

Im trying to figure out if I want to go to Sam Houston Southern University or if I want to go to University of Houston. I want to get a Geology degree and then go into the oil field as a exploration geologist. Does anyone have any ideas how to find out which school has a better program?

I am considering a career in geology and would to hear from some geologists about the nature of the work. I understand that it is an extremely varied field, but any insights would be helpful. Two specific questions I have are:

1) What do you really do on a day to day basis?

2) Are there job oppurtunties in geology that don’t require 100% office work?

I’m an analytical person and I love nature, so I thought this might be an interesting career. But, I would like to avoid spending all my time in an office.

Like k = permeability, P = pressure, R = resisitivity, Greek letters ro and phi etc. etc. etc. I just want it all in a nifty helpful table. Can someone please help?

Not a glossary like definitions of words….like a glossary of symbols.

Like someone might use if they had formulas & wanted to know what they meant (so they could better understand them).

What are the universities available for Studying geology (Specially Petrology, Engineering geology and Hydrogeology )? I am a science graduate but i need to change my carrier path. Would i be able to do a Master in geology and start my carrier as a geologist because i am about 30 years old?

I am finishing up my BS in geology and am planning to attent graduate school to get my PhD in Geochemistry or Geology. Im looking for companies or Firms to work for afterwards…. any suggestions?? I love what I do, but I do want to be able to pay the bills….

I’m currently a biology major at the University of Minnesota Duluth, but I’m thinking about switching to a Geology major. A Biology major is a broad major and I could do a lot with it, but how broad is a geology major? What could I do with that career-wise?

I am 18 & a science student,doing my A level now.I am planning to further my study in the UK next year (undergraduate) majoring in environmental science or geology.I have a list of universities in the UK with me but I just don’t know which one is the best for me to choose.York,Manchester,Keele,Newcastle,Nottingham,Bristol,Sheffield,Cardiff,Birmingham,Liverpool,Southampton,Lancaster and Imperial College are among the 50 universities in my list.So people! would anyone of you help me out here?Perhaps give me some ideas to choose the best six universities.I prefer universities with great study facilities,great study environment,nice and friendly people.The thing is that,I want to be able to mix around with everyone and not just with students from my country.Only then,I believe,that I could exchange knowledge as well as learn new things.So can anybody help me?
