What is the relevance of learning more about geology in regards to:
-Volcanic Activity
-Ground Water
-Coastal Features

Currently I’m attending a two year institution to attain my associate degree in science. When I’m finished here, I want to get a bachelor and masters degree in geology and biology.

I was wondering what traits, characteristics, or skills does one absolutely need to become a Geologist? I’ve always been fascinated with rocks and minerals, but is interest enough? For any Geologists/or/Geology Majors out there: How did you know Geology was what you needed/wanted to do with your life?
