You have employers who properly compensate for work done, and employees who work to earn it. There are employers that take unfair advantage of their employees, and lazy, dishonest employees who cheat their employers and coworkers. In Canada, cause always has to be given for termination. In Canada, you can only work 44 hours (or 88 hours per pay period) before overtime applies (unless this right is waived in the employment contract, or if the employee is salaried) IN most places full time employees have to be offered supplemental health insurance, and finally there is a free and accessible regulatory board (the labour board) which offers services to employees and employers to help manage workers rights.
