How exciting and opportunistic is petroleum geology?
I enjoy geology and I’m considering a career in petroleum geology. Is it an exciting career? Do you work with interesting people and work in the field, or is it more of a desk job?
What fascinates you most about it?
I am a petroleum geologist, I was schooled in Salt Lake City, Utah, and now I am traveling the world with my job. I am living in Slovakia (where my job took me) and I travel to Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Poland, basically anywhere. It is an exciting field and although some of it is desk work, it is research work which is very nice. And it pays well too

The best part is doing research, discovering things and helping humanity at the same time. You can’t ask for more.
