How much time do you spend doing homework everyday in college?
Im starting college for the first time in sept. I have a 3yr old daughter and im a single mom. Taking social worker 2yr program. Can someont please tell me how much homework does one have to do daily? I heard that for every hour in the class room you must spend 3hrs doing homework. How much time do you spend doing homework everyday?
I have learned that the classroom to homework hours ratio is a bunch of crap. As long as you stay organized, you can block out small periods of time to keep up with college work.
I take 6-9 units a semester and spend approx 2 hours a week outside of class on homework/studying.
Honestly, it depends on the school, the department, and the professor. When I entered school, I was told that for every hour I was in a class, to expect four hours of homework. I never spend that much time on homework. I would say that I spend 1-5 hours total a night on homework, and I do the work the day it is talked about in class. When I spend 5+ hours on homework, it is usually due to me leaving a paper to the last minute.
It depends so much on the class, the teacher, and how organized you are. It could be only an hour or two betwen each class or it could be much more.
It may sound stupid but it also depends on what your goals are. If you aren’t happy with anything less than a 4.0 GPA, you will spend more time doing homework than a C student.
My advice is that if you’re working full-time, it’ll be extremely hard to also go to school full-time. In that situation i’d suggest just doing part-time school. If you’re unsure, why not sign up for just 1-2 classes the first semester and see how it goes?
I agree with the above comments. Time spent for homework would depend on your class or subjects. there are assignment that you can complete within a few minutes but there are hard assignment that would take much of your time to research in order to have right answer.
One easy assignment I had in college was building resume.
I just search online for an example of simple resume writing and right away I was able to compose my own resume.
