Different types of ground require different kinds of asphault and the civil engineer is responsible for finding that out. Since they also deal with storm water drainage, knowing how a surface will cope with certain amounts of water is crucial. Houses falling off cliffs in CA is a perfect example of why civil engineers NEED geology more than most people realize.</description>

		<description>Well, I mean you can&#039;t undergo a civil engineering project without first understanding the lay of the land very well.  For example if an area is prone to earthquakes you are going to need to note this when you build a structure.</description>
