I believe we are influenced by what we are exposed to. It's the nature vs. nurture thing everyone talks about. My parents, mostly my mother, read novels, newspapers, and Life and Time magazines. I read two newspapers a day, don't have time for magazines (except in the doctor's office), and read novels two at a time.

i honestly dont really remember.

I know we had a large dictionary, medical books, encyclopedias, and probably several religious books. Some home do it yourself type books, an electronics book, a health book. My mom didnt read anything for pleasure. My dad didnt either that i was aware of. As i got older he did, he read lots of Christian books, that big christian series left behind, tom clancy books. I dont read anything that they read. I grew up reading Hardy boys and Fantasy novels which i still read today So they did not influence me at all, even tho my dad tried to get me to read christian books, i had no interest in them at all, they were usually horrible, and gave me nightmares.
